For more than 50 years, Doxa has helped young people overcome barriers to education, employment and opportunity. Through our Cadetship Program, we support aspiring university students with financial assistance, professional mentoring, work placements and personal development opportunities that help them succeed both academically and professionally.

Traditionally, many cadetships are funded through corporate partners who also provide employment opportunities for cadets within their organisations. While these partnerships remain vital, not every young person dreams of a corporate career.

Some aspire to work in community services, outdoor education, recreation, youth work, environmental management, education, or the not-for-profit sector. These pathways often offer fewer opportunities for direct corporate sponsorship despite being critically important professions that strengthen our communities.

To ensure every young person can pursue the career path that is right for them, Doxa is establishing the Cadetship Fund.

The Goal

We are seeking to raise $12,000 to fully fund one cadetship placement.

This funding will enable a young person to participate in the Doxa Cadetship Program regardless of whether a traditional corporate sponsor can be matched to their chosen field of study or career aspiration.

The fund may support:

• A future outdoor education or recreation leader gaining experience through Doxa Camps.
• A young person pursuing a career in youth work, social services or community development.
• A student seeking experience within the not-for-profit sector.
• Emerging leaders whose career aspirations align with social impact and community wellbeing.
